Dark Side. Producer (Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2005)
When Tim asked Britt to produce his stage show for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he was still relatively unknown. Taking on RMIT’s 200-seat Kaleide Theatre for a three week season was a massive risk.
Britt helped craft a memorable “word of mouth” campaign that filled the house and ensured a return on investment. We managed to lure Gilded Balloon Producer Karen Koren in the door… and this ended up being a massive turning point in Tim’s career. The show won the inaugural ‘Director’s Choice’ Award and went on to become one of the most acclaimed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, winning Tim the Perrier Best Newcomer Award.
This is what Tim said at the end of the season:
Hopefully by now you know how insanely grateful I am for the existence of you. You have been amazingly supportive and level headed and smiling and you have positivity unparalleled. And you are clever and hardworking and gracious ... You are a wonderful, generous human and I can’t believe I found you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
